Part 1

Black Cardinal had tracked down the Charmer, a master criminal, to his penthouse apartment. Her black leather boot clad feet carried her silently into his bedroom. To her surprise, he was there waiting for her dressed in a tux, the room lit with candals.

"You needn't have bothered," Black Cardinal said, hands on hips, "Jail isn't former."

"If I'm to spend the rest of my life in the company of rough men, you must allow me the pleasure of the company of a beautiful woman," The Charmer said, and offering her a glass, "Would you like a drink?"

"No thanks. I don't care for knock out drops," Black Cardinal said, and producing a pair of handcuffs, "I brought you a present, though."

"I'm all yours," The Charmer said as he allowed his hands to be cuffed in front of him, and looking at his captor's legs, "It's too bad you wear boots. I bet your feet look great."

"Oh, you're one of those," Black Cardinal said, shaking her head, "Let's go."

"Wait. I have information on the Curator," The Charmer said, "Let me give you a foot massage and I'll tell you where to find him."

"Okay, but no tricks," Black Cardinal said, knowing how badly her fellow superheroines wanted to capture the supervillain, "Or I'll kick you into next week."

Black Cardinal removed her boots, and sat onto the bed, placing her long shapely legs into the Charmer's lap. He began to massage her beautiful feet, and the Black Cardinal had to admit he was good. Her whole body began to feel good, totally relaxed. Suddenly she found herself unable to move, and completely at the Charmer's mercy.

"All the nerves of the body are connected to the feet," The Charmer explained to the paralyzed Black Cardinal, "I've learned how to massage someone into helplessness. Sweet dreams."

He dressed a nerve in her foot, and everything went black . . .

The Lilac Lotus had heard the same rumor that had brought the Black Cardinal to the Charmer's penthouse apartment. When the purple leotard clad heroine arrived, however, all she found was a familiar scent hanging in the air. Her eyes went wide with the realization of what her fantastic sense of smell aluded to.

"The Black Cardinal was here," Lilac Lotus said to herself, "If she had captured the Charmer she would have checked in."

"How perceptive," A voice said from behind her, and Lilac Lotus turned to see a man in a tux holding a dozen roses, "You win a prize."

The Charmer tossed the flowers at Lilac Lotus' booted feet. They exploded in a cloud of greenish gas that enveloped the heroine. She coughed on the sickly sweet fumes, and suddenly began dizzy. Her legs wouldn't support her, and she fell to the ground, and into unconsciousness.

When she awoke she was in the back of a limo, laying next to the Black Cardinal. Her boots had been removed, and she was in her pantyhose clad feet. Although neither heroine was bound, they were both completely helpless.

"The Charmer must have given you one of those paralyzing foot rubs, like he did me," Black Cardinal explained, regret in her voice.

"Where is he taking us," Lilac Lotus asked, frustated by her condition.

"To the Curator," Black Cardinal answered, as horror rose in her throat . . .

Wonder Woman was flying in her invisible plane when she spotted the limo. A thug had been sent to kill her by the Charmer failed, and her magic lasso had gotten the villain's plans from his hired help. The Amazing Amazon couldn't help but think that the Charmer knew his man would fail, but with the lives a Black Cardinal and Lilac Lotus in the balance, she couldn't take the chance.

The Charmer was driving casually down the road, his two helpless guests in back when Wonder Woman suddenly appeared in front of him. He slammed on his breaks and after stopping mere feet from her, he got and and produced a pistol. Wonder Woman smiled as she prepared to deflect the bullets.

"You don't think that you can hurt me with that, do you?" Wonder Woman asked.

"Hurt you, no," The Charmer answered, and then fired twice, "Capture you, yes."

"Great Hera!" Wonder Woman exclaimed as she intercepted the bullets, only to have them explode in a sickly sweet greenish gas, "Chloroform bullets! Oh, no, I'm blacking out . . ."

The Charmer smiled as he picked up the unconscious Amazon, and carried her gently to the back of the limo. Black Cardinal and Lilac Lotus could only watch helplessly as the fiend removed Wonder Woman's magic belt, the source of her strength, and bound her tightly with her unbreakable magic lasso . . .

"Ladies, we have three members missing," Supergirl said to her fellow superheroines, "And the rest of us are targeted."

"I can't believe the Curator thinks he can get away with this," Banner said.

"So far, with the Charmer's help, he has," Flaxen said, "I'm going to call every superheroine we know. We've got to warn them about this guy."

"Where to we start to look for our friends?" Banner asked.

"If I know the Charmer, he'll come to us," Supergirl said grimly.

"You'll never get away with this, Curator," Wonder Woman said defiantly, unable to move do the the electrical current coming from the pedistal she and her friends had been placed on.

"I have so far," The Curator said, "The Charmer had captured three superheroines in one night, and I can keep you all here as trophies."

"Is that all we are to you?" Black Cardinal asked, back in her boots and indignant.

"Objects to be played with?" Lilac Lotus asked, anger in her voice.

"Actually, I've thought superheroine were collector's items, ha, ha, ha!" The Curator said, and left the three helpless alone in the darkness . . .

"You'll never get away with this, Curator," Wonder Woman said defiantly, unable to move do the electrical current coming from the pedestal she and her friends had been placed on.

"I have so far," The Curator said, "The Charmer had captured three superheroines in one night, and I can keep you all here as trophies."

"Is that all we are to you?" Black Cardinal asked, back in her boots and indignant.

"Actually, I've thought superheroine were collector's items, ha, ha, ha!" The Curator said, and left the three helpless alone in the darkness . . .

After the patriotic heroine Defender joined them, the superheroines paired up to search for their friends. Supergirl and Flaxen went to the penthouse apartment where Black Cardinal and Lilac Lotus had been captured, while the red, white, and blue clad Defender and Banner headed for the road where Wonder Woman had been overpowered. All hoped to find a clue to where their friends were being kept.

"I checked the place out with my x-ray vision," Supergirl told her dark blue and black clad colleague, "No sign of the Charmer, but there's a lot of lead in the penthouse."

"No doubt to hide himself from you," The blonde and beautiful Flaxen observed, "We'll have to be careful. He's so handsome and charming that it can distract a heroine long enough to get the drop on her."

"Well, that's not going to happen with us, right?" Supergirl asked with determination as she landed them on the balcony.

"Right," Flaxen replied with equal determination as they walked through the french doors.

The blonde heroines entered into the darkened penthouse. It was luxurious and well appointed, the perfect arena for a seduction. Well Supergirl could see perfectly, she knew Flaxen couldn't and went for the light switch. Her finger flipped the switch, and suddenly Supergirl collapsed to the floor in pain.

"Oh, no!" Supergirl exclaimed weakly, "The lights are rigged with kryptonite. Turning on the lights exposed me to it! Oh, so weak . . ."

"Don't worry, Supergirl, I'll turn of- . . . MMFFF?!" Flaxen began to say only to have her words cut off by a cloth suddenly clamped over her nose and mouth.

"A gentleman should always offer a lady a handkerchief," The Charmer said as he seized Flaxen after stepping out of a secret room, "Especially one soaked in chloroform!"

Supergirl could only watch helplessly as Flaxen struggled valiantly but hopelessly against the chloroform. Her long and shapely limbs shook as the anesthetic robbed her of her strength and muscle control. Flaxen's eyes fluttered and closed, and she went limp in the Charmer's arms. Supergirl fought to get to her feet, to turn off the kryptonite light trap.

"This should ease your pain," The Charmer said as he covered her face with the chloroform soaked cloth, and pulled her away from the light switch.

All Supergirl could think as she faded into unconsciousness was that she had failed . . .

"What I can't understand is how someone saw Wonder Woman get captured stopping the limo," Defender admitted to her colleague as they examined the country road outside the city, "There's no one for miles."

"So you think that anonymous tip was just another set up by the Charmer? So do I and . . . Wait a minute," Banner said spotting something in the distance, and leaving her friend at superhuman speed for a moment, and then returning a heartbeat later, "There's a hidden bunker in those trees over there. The doors locked so I couldn't get in."

"Well, lead the way, Speedy," Defender said as she watched the direction that Banner took off once again, and followed her this time with a superhuman leap that ended right at the bunkers entrance, "This doesn't look to hard."

Defender kicked the heavy metal door right off it's hinges and the two heroines followed it inside. It was dark, and Defender took the lead, Banner ready to move forward to back up her ally.

Without warning Banner was hit by a dart in the arm, and she let out a soft moan as the sleep drug put her under. Defender turned just in time to catch her, and pulled the projectile out of the now unconscious heroines arm. Suddenly the dart exploded into a cloud of greenish sickly sweet gas that caused Defenders world to spin into darkness.

"Defender, Banner, are you to all right?" Supergirl asked as the lights came on to the chamber holding the superheroines.

"I think so," Defender replied, "It's good to see the gang all together. Any idea why we can't move?"

"Supergirl checked out the pedestals while you were unconscious with her x-ray vision. There's nothing mechanical from keeping us paralyzed."

"My guess is that they used my magic lasso to force us to stand here helplessly," Wonder Woman said, embarrassed. "I'm so sorry."

"It's not your fault, Wonder Woman," Flaxen said.

"She's right. It's mine. I thought I could handle the Charmer alone. I should have called for help," Black Cardinal added.

"I felt the same way, Cardinal," Lilac Lotus admitted.

"The important thing is to find a way to free ourselves before the Curator has a chance to take advantage of us," Banner observed, "Any ideas?"

The silence in the room was deafening as the Curator and the Charmer entered, sick smiles on their faces . . .

"What are you going to do to us?" Wonder Woman demanded.

"Anything we want," The Curator answered.

"And who can stop us," The Charmer added, "After all, we've captured all the superheroines in town."

"Not all the superheroines," A female voice corrected him, causing the Charmer to turn and come face to face with a woman in a purple leotard and dark blue jacket, who in turned kicked him into unconsciousness with a black leather boot to the head, "Now it's your turn."

"No, no, please . . . ," The Curator begged for mercy, only to be punched into unconsciousness.

"Hi, Svelte," Lilac Lotus said the mysterious heroine, "She's a friend of mine. I had her a tracer on and told her to follow me if I didn't check in on time."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Supergirl asked, delighted but confused.

"I didn't want to tip out hand to the hardly boys," Lilac Lotus answered, "Ladies, I nominate Svelte for membership in the Superheroine League. All in favor say aye."

"AYE!" They said in unison.

The End.
